LETTUCE Winter Density Seeds

Inc. GST + FREE Shipping

The variety Lettuce Winter Density is a popular English lettuce variety incorporating the best traits of both butterhead and romaine lettuce varieties into a semi-cos form, thus delivering an all round winner with sweet and crisp leaves, in a quick-growing and robust plant. Lettuce Winter Density is slightly larger (20cm tall) growing variety than the Lettuce Little Gem Mini Cos variety. Lettuce Winter Density is popular due its mildly sweet flavour and ultra-crispy texture, making it ideal for Caesar salads and other culinary delights. One of the real advantages of Lettuce Winter Density is its slow-bolt nature, where most varieties generally bolt (flower) as the weather gets warmer, Lettuce Winter Density remains in a vegetative phase, which means the plants and leaves can be harvested for an extended period. This popular variety is generally resistant to common pests and diseases that typically affect vegetable gardens and remain harvestable (do not go to flower) for an extended duration. This variety is a favourite for the home vegie-garden, as it is easy to grow and is generally harvested only 6 - 8 weeks from first sowing, therefore providing quick rewards.
