These are high-quality, industrial horticulture grade black PE (polyethylene) planter bags. If you are after a tough and durable planter bag that represents great value, then you can't go past the range we have on offer here. Unlike the cheaper makes that may look similar but more often than not are made of a much thinner PE plastic, have faulty plastic welds at the base of the bags (leaks potting mix) or damaged gusset fold; in contrast, the bags we have on offer here are made of a premium industrial grade UV-stabilised polyethylene and can withstand harsh growing environments, including indefinite direct exposure to the sun.
These planter bags also have improved drainage with larger holes situated at the basal-ridge (not the underside) and holes on the sides, therefore providing air-pruning of roots and contribute to improved root-system development. All planter bags are supplied in a durable black colour and far superior to the white bags that simply do not have any durability in the sun.
This is a professional grade product that has been used widely by the nursery industry in Australia for many years.

Fantastic Planter Bags and great service from The Climbing Fig ![User picture]()
Recently, I have received 2 purchases from The Climbing Fig. The first one, my sister purchased planter bags for me and I was soooo impressed by them that I ordered some more. They arrived quickly and were well packaged (no packing and not too much packaging).
When I did my order, I didn't realise that there were two shapes of 5L planter bags. I was able to change the order to the more suitable bags, with no fuss. I appreciated the GREAT service.
