Lilium Formosanum Pink Diamond is a stunning hybrid of the Formosa Lily, also known as the Taiwan Lily. This spectacular lilium variety is grown the world over for its spectacularly beautiful white flowers spikes that are accentuated by a pink-purple ribbing, on the exterior of the floral tube. The amazingly bright white flower spikes are very long lasting and provide a spectacular display over an extended period in both garden landscape settings, and are also popular for cutting, particularly with florists as they are great to fill-out any large floral display. Lilium Formosanum Pink Diamond is a modern hybrid variety and one of the most popular of all the Lily varieties as it is a very strong garden performer which is quite drought tolerant, requires very little maintenance and is very resilient towards many common pests and diseases. Unlike many of the common and wild varieties of Lily which tend to flower infrequently, the Lilium Formosanum Pink Diamond variety is specifically suited to pot and landscape applications because of its resilience and superior performance. Whilst plants from seeds can take some time to become established (germinate and mature), the joys of multiple Lilium Formosanum Pink Diamond is sure to add brilliant white colour to any garden. If sown in late Winter (started indoors in cold climates), and planted out in early Spring, the variety Formosanum Pink Diamond will often flower by late Summer and throughout Autumn, providing an impressive yield of colour in the first year. Being a bulbous variety, after a subdued dormancy over the Winter, this variety will bounce back the following Spring to put on another display of colour. Whilst some species (wild) varieties of Lilium Formosanum are known to have weedy tendencies, the variety Lilium Formosanum Pink Diamond is a more stable hybrid, however, care should always be taken not to plant exotic plant varieties close to native bushland where garden varieties can escape.
