Aechmea Rubra Bromeliad of Bahamas Seeds

Inc. GST + FREE Shipping

Aechmea Rubra Bromeliad of Bahamas is a brilliantly exotic brom from Central America. This stunning bromeliad is an Aechmea hybrid that has been selected for its red colouration (as the plant matures, and with sun), and can be grown in tropical garden landscapes to provide a touch of tropical flair. Whilst the plant can be grown in more temperate regions provided they are frost-free, the plant does best in more humid and warm environment where the plant can grow as large as 50cm tall. Aechmea Rubra Bromeliad of Bahamas does well in pots, rockeries and a wide range of gardens, and like all succulents is very drought tolerant, making it a favourite for pots and garden beds. The stunningly exotic serrated foliage makes this variety a great addition to any garden as the bold texture provides great contrast, and can be used quite effectively in adding some colour and flare to almost any garden. The throats of the bromeliad maintain an apple green colouration, and as the leaves mature, particularly with lots of sun, turn a beautiful red colour, proving a colourful display.
