Bromelia False Pineapple Bromeliad is a brilliantly exotic brom from Central and South America. Whilst the "false pineapple brom" has traditionally been grown for its fleshy fruit produced by mature plants, in more recent times, this relatively rare species has been used in tropical garden landscapes to provide a touch of tropical flair.
Bromelia False Pineapple Bromeliad does well in pots, rockeries and a wide range of gardens, and like all succulents is very drought tolerant, making it a favourite for pots and garden beds. The stunningly exotic aloe-like rosettes make this variety a great addition to any garden as the bold texture provides great contrast, and can be used quite effectively in adding some colour and flare to almost any garden. The younger leaves take on a burnt orange colour, and gradually turn burgundy and eventually green, as the leaves mature, proving a colourful display of perennial colour.
