SALVIA Victoria White Seeds

Inc. GST + FREE Shipping

The Victoria cultivars were the first ornamental Salvia Farinacea varieties to exhibit a stunning abundance of salvia flowers, on highly desirable compact plants. Like many of the recently released varieties of salvia, the white flowering version of Victoria, Salvia Victoria White is a hardy compact plant, with beautiful grey-green foliage. The masses of beautiful pure white flowers are contrasted brilliantly against the silvery foliage, making this a popular choice for mass-plantings in garden beds as well as in cottage style gardens. In bedding applications, these Salvias are typically planted out after the last frosts, and will flower throughout the year, until the cold weather knocks them around with the approach of winter. Depending on the severity of the cold weather, this variety can come back and be grown as a biennial, however, it is most commonly grown as a colourful annual.

As the largest genus in the mint family, the Salvia genus consists of more than 900 species, consisting of small and large plants, annual and perennials, and there is sure to be variety that is suited for your particular garden application. At The Climbing Fig we stock what we consider to be the highest performing varieties of both ornamental and edible salvia, and are always on the lookout for worthy additions. Anyone who has a particular interest in learning more about salvia plant varieties, should check out a feature article titled The Joy of Salvia which was published in the Gardening Australia Magazine in June 2012. The article is available on the Gardening Australia website. As the article is a few years old now, several new varieties are now available, however it is a great read for anyone with an interest in learning how salvia plants can be used.
