Salvia Orbital BlueTorch Seeds

Inc. GST + FREE Shipping

The Orbital series is an ornamental Salvia Farinacea variety grown for its stunning abundance of lavender blue salvia flowers, on highly desirable compact plants. Like many of the recently released varieties of salvia, the blue flowering version of Orbital, Salvia Orbital BlueTorch is a hardy compact plant, with beautiful grey-green foliage. The masses of beautiful blue flowers are contrasted brilliantly against the silvery foliage, making this a popular choice for mass-plantings in garden beds as well as in cottage style gardens. In bedding applications, these Salvias are typically planted out after the last frosts, and will flower throughout the year, until the cold weather knocks them around with the approach of winter. Depending on the severity of the cold weather, this variety can come back and be grown as a biennial, however, it is most commonly grown as a colourful annual. As the largest genus in the mint family, the Salvia genus consists of more than 900 species, consisting of small and large plants, annual and perennials, and there is sure to be variety that is suited for your particular garden application. At The Climbing Fig we stock what we consider to be the highest performing varieties of both ornamental and edible salvia, and are always on the lookout for worthy additions. Anyone who has a particular interest in learning more about salvia plant varieties, should check out a feature article titled The Joy of Salvia which was published in the Gardening Australia Magazine in June 2012. The article is available on the Gardening Australia website. As the article is a few years old now, several new varieties are now available, however it is a great read for anyone with an interest in learning how salvia plants can be used.

I have not yet planted them but I am looking forward to doing so as I love these flowers & so do the bees the best place to plant them is in an area that air can circulate freely unlike where I planted this year’s flowers & they have been effected by a mildew which make the leaves wither they’re an awesome plant & smell wonderful & look beautiful

Great service

I have found The Climbing Fig Garden Store to be one of the best organizations to deal with. The product I purchased was delivered quickly postage free and in excellent condition. The produce I purchased are seeds to be sewn in Spring, therefore I have not planted them thus far as it is too cold. That brings me to the instructions provided to me with these seeds. The planting guide, season when to plant, plant description and needs were clear and easy to follow. I am sure the Saliva plants when they grow will be everything I am hoping for. Great to have such an exciting and comprehensive service in The Climbing Fig, well done I am looking to purchase more unusual plant seeds i the near future. Brian Cropley avid gardener.
