SALVIA Farinacea Strata Seeds

This multi-award winning variety of Salvia bred by Floranova is absolutely stunning. Like many of the recently released varieties of salvia, Salvia Farinacea Strata is a hardy compact plant, with beautiful grey-green foliage. Where Salvia Farinacea Strata is a cut-above other salvia varieties is in its unique flower. The beautiful blue flowers are framed by a white calyx, providing a stunning bicolour flower display that will not only be at home in any cottage garden, but is also a popular choice for high-performance mass-planting (bedding) applications. In bedding applications, these Salvias are typically planted out after the last frosts, and will flower throughout the year, until the cold weather knocks them around with the approach of winter. Depending on the severity of the cold weather, this variety can come back and be grown as a biennial, however, it is most commonly grown as a colourful annual.

As the largest genus in the mint family, the Salvia genus consists of more than 900 species, consisting of small and large plants, annual and perennials, and there is sure to be variety that is suited for your particular garden application.
