This stunning native tree variety Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum is often referred to as a Red Flowering Gum for obvious reasons and remains one of the most popular Australian native tree varieties. The well proportioned tree, is typically densely covered with narrow bluish-green leaves, attached to cream grey stems and branches, which are punctuated by stunning red flowers from late Autumn, through Winter and into Spring. Whilst there are several forms of E. Leucoxylon Rosea, including the more common pink flowering form, Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum is a brilliant red flowering form from southern Victoria. Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum is native to South Eastern Australia where it endures relatively cool conditions in its natural habitat, however, the variety has adapted well to cultivation in a variety of environments, ranging from cold winters in Victoria all the way up north through to the sub-tropics where it is increasingly becoming a popular choice for its deep foliage and drought tolerance. This species is also a popular export, with many varieties grown as far as California and beyond. Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum is commonly grown in a range of landscape and public space settings due to its compact growth, relatively small size, tough evergreen nature and the beautiful colour that covers the tree during the onset of Summer. Another advantage of Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum is that it has a smooth trunk, meaning it doesn't shed a pile of bark, making it suitable for garden and urban horticulture applications. In addition to Corymbia Ficifolia, Eucalyptus Red Flowering Yellow Gum really is a true marvel of the Australian outback.
