Marigold Compact Orange is a relatively new variety of marigold that has been bred to produce large pure orange double flowers on healthy compact plants, ideal for high-end bedding displays or pots. Like all marigolds, Marigold Compact Orange is very easy to grow, quick to flower and provides spectacular colour over an extended period. Unlike the older marigold varieties (particularly the tall-growing mixes) that seem to struggle after the first flush of flowers, Marigold Compact Orange is excellent with shedding spent flowers and continually producing more fresh and bright flowers. The large pure orange double flowers make a great display whether planted individually or as part of a much larger display. Marigolds are commonly used as companion plants in vegetable and herb gardens, as they act as a natural pest repellent for many common vegetable pests
